Who processes your data

PLASURI S.A.S., tax ID (NIT) 900.813.258-7, Dr. Saad Barhoum’s plastic surgery practice. Calle 9B # 49-50, local 100, Centro Comercial Palmetto Plaza, Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. Phone and WhatsApp: +57 315 581 5337.

We also see patients who live in Spain and other European Union countries. That’s why, in addition to Colombia’s Law 1581 of 2012, we apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data we process

Only what you give us. We don’t buy databases, we don’t obtain your data from third parties, and we don’t track you across websites.

If you write to us on WhatsApp: your phone number, your name as you have it set up, what you tell us in the conversation, and any tests, reports, or photographs you choose to send us.

When you browse the website: aggregate usage statistics that don’t identify you. See the cookie policy.

Why this is sensitive data, and how you authorize us

What you tell us about your health, and the tests, reports, and clinical photographs you send us, are sensitive data under Law 1581 and a special category under the GDPR. That’s why:

  • We only receive them on WhatsApp, at +57 315 581 5337. Never on Instagram or other social networks: if you write to us there, we’ll ask you to move to WhatsApp.
  • Before receiving them, we ask for your authorization in the chat itself. We explain what we use them for and that you’re not required to provide them; if you don’t, your case is assessed at the in-person consultation.
  • You can withdraw that authorization at any time by writing to us at the same number.

If you go on to have surgery, whatever becomes part of your medical record is also governed by health regulations.

What we use it for

  • Answering your inquiry and advising you about your case.
  • Organizing the consultation, the surgery, and your trip, if you decide to go ahead.

We don’t make automated decisions about you, we don’t build profiles, and we don’t sell or share your data.

Where it is

The conversation is handled from Colombia, where the practice is. WhatsApp belongs to Meta and is governed by its own terms: when you write to us, the conversation is also stored on its servers.

If you go on to have surgery, your data will be shared with the medical team and the clinic involved in your care, under the confidentiality their profession requires.

How long we keep it

For as long as the relationship lasts and, after that, only as long as the law requires. When it’s no longer needed, we delete it. Your medical record, if one exists, has its own legal retention periods.

Your rights

At any time you can ask us to know what data of yours we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, take it with you, and withdraw your consent. Write to us at +57 315 581 5337; we’ll ask you to verify your identity so we don’t hand your data to someone else.

Response times: from the European Union, one month, extendable by two more if the request is complex; from Colombia, ten business days for inquiries and fifteen for complaints, extendable.

If you’re not satisfied, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or with Colombia’s Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (sic.gov.co).

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date and the version.
